High School

Forest Hills Field Hockey sponsors varsity and junior varsity teams that play in the top division (Division 1) of the Michigan High School Field Hockey League. Starting in 2025, field hockey will be officially sponsored by the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA). The Michigan High School Field Hockey League is divided into conferences and divisions. Forest Hills Field Hockey is part of the OK Conference which includes East Grand Rapids, Hudsonville, Rockford, and Spring Lake.

We are currently recognized by the Forest Hills high schools as a fall club sport; home games are played on the lower turf field at Forest Hills Central High School.

Participation is open to students of any high school that does not have its own field hockey program. In addition to the three Forest Hills high schools (Central, Northern, and Eastern), we have welcomed players from: Caledonia, Grand Rapids Catholic Central, Grand Haven, West Michigan Aviation Academy, and Kalamazoo Central. Our goal would be to use players from other schools to "seed" their own programs; this is how the Rockford program was launched after they initially participated with our program.

Our high school teams maintain a "no cut" policy whenever possible. First-time players are initially assigned to the JV team regardless of grade.

Varsity players who meet basic requirements are awarded varsity letters by their home high school; for non-Forest Hills students, we attempt to work with athletic departments to ensure appropriate recognition.
